A recent conversation had me thinking of the wonderful complexity of the vibrating string. Purely synthesized music is fine, but the physical world is a collaborator with its own agenda, sometimes more cooperative, sometimes less. The Moog Guitar, with its multiple string drivers, is more intentional and opinionated than guitars without artificial sustain, though those are quite opinionated as well, in my experience.

Last week's performance on a different instrument managed to suggest vocal timbres. While I'd thought to try to evoke them again, what emerged this time sounds like pipe organ, flute, and woodwind timbres. They're subtly complex sounds with their own life and presence. Many of these pieces suggest calm and meditation, though some of these also inspect less settled energies.
