about

Hippocampal theta waves (4-8Hz) have been observed in the transition from sleep to wakefulness, as well as meditative states. Some writers have associated them with dreams, insight, and creativity. (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theta_wave#Humans_and_other_primates)

The 4 and 8 Hz differences between the frequencies in this piece are in the theta range, though the difference between the extremes (80-92) is in the alpha wave range.

The piece begins with an 80 Hz tone, followed after a minute by the addition of an 84 Hz tone. After 10 minutes, a tone at 88 Hz appears, and 10 minutes later, there's an added tone at 92Hz, for 20 minutes. Then the higher tones are faded out at 10 minute intervals.

This piece can be used as an aid to concentration or meditation, or for any other purpose. (If you dance to it, though, send video.)
