Sometimes, having optimal creative conditions means having uncomfortable or difficult constraints. This week's performance used a guitar I've not touched in a while (the $60 Univox hollowbody in a variant of Fahey C tuning), and it includes some techniques I've not used with this tuning before--the ring modulator, and the wooden slide. This is also the first performance after a version-skipping OS update.

With these risks demanding increased attention, I think that shows up in the music and sonic texture. There's a life to these, along with reflectiveness and peacefulness, rather than a tension.
