about

I began this series to have some kind of contact with people during quarantine and lockdown. As things tentatively (and maybe not so tentatively) open up, things are different, but not back to what was "normal."

This week's improv felt different from the last few, and maybe it's closest in character to week 9, which was also (mostly) done on the same instrument. This one seems more melodic than the last few, with slow harmonic development, and maybe more emotion coming through.

Titles...were associations with the sun shining on hot places, open windows, summer days that encourage slowness.

This week I fixed the buffer problem in the patch, and added a subtle tremolo abstraction, which maybe makes the guitar feel slightly more distant. I started fairly clean, but gradually added distortion up through the fourth improv, coming back to a gentler sound on by the end.

As ever, this is available for nothing or pay-what-you-want. And if you do pay something, June's sales go to Pittsburgh's Bukit Bail Fund, who are doing good and important work. www.bukitbailfund.org.

Thank you for listening!
