Last week and this weekend presented some challenges, and by the time of this performance, especially having made the mistake of looking at news, I was in an ambivalent state. This performance reflects that, I think, navigating between concern, sadness, and tentative hope. When I finished it, I wasn't fully confident in what I'd played, though listening back today, it has a presence, and something positive to offer.
