about

How are you all doing? We've been isolated for longer than some of us expected--that's true for me, anyway. Our psyches are still doing a lot of labor. We're in that gray stretch from New Year's to spring. We find our way forward, somehow.

This week's performance...shortly beforehand, I thought to retune the Kalamazoo in open G, and that led to most of these pieces. (Thanks to Alan from Low for the inspiration to try open G!) I switched to the Univox hollowbody in Fahey tuning, which kind of broke the flow--one of those Fahey-tuned pieces...was too unsettled to fit here, but the second of those remains as piece 4.

For the last several years, I've looked forward to travel in February, though this year that will be virtual. Still, this has me thinking of nature in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, which is the source of track titles this week. Here's to staying in contact with the things that sustain you.

Thank you for listening!
