about

This week's performance marks 50 weeks of ambient guitar improvisations, done with the thought of connecting with people, and giving them a sonic environment in which they can reduce stresses and find equilibrium.

Sometimes my experience of doing these is simply sitting down and listening for, and then playing, the next note. Other times, it's more like I'm chasing the music, or working to get into the right state where the music presents itself. Both happen to be on display here. I also hear reflection on the past year, the people we've lost, and how far we are from each other. Over the length of the improvisations, I also hear the music drifting and settling into something more placid--it does come out in a positive place, I think. If you're suffering, consider this one dedicated to you.

Thank you for listening!
