about

Live improvisations for Internet streaming. Many of us are isolating (and isolated) at home, so I'd wanted to improvise some ambient pieces with guitar and a delay network I've been working on in Max/MSP.

Doing a livestream is a way of connecting with people, and some of the idea behind these is to provide something peaceful, something that can offer a sense of stillness when we're all inundated with alarming news and worry. It's ok to be worried about things now, and it's also ok to give yourself a break from worry.

This set of pieces...is maybe less still and less peaceful than previous weeks', but it is extra fuzzy for 4/20. Distortion is on more than it's off, and I'm using my most-rock-oriented guitar. Maybe beauty still creeps in a bit.

Signal chain:

Epiphone Moderne > Reuss RF-01 > Mike Carey Tremolo Pedal > Vox Wah > Moyo volume > Max/MSP quad delay patch (with new record-to-buffer section that sneaks into a few places).
