about

This week's improvisation is one in which the music presented itself obliquely--I didn't have to chase it, but at the time I wasn't sure I was translating it well. On listening back, I think the music didn't want to reveal itself right away. The pieces in which it was most immediate were the pieces where I did something outside of my usual practice: sustain one pitch for a longer-than-usual time (Infralateral Arc), or extend the final section by passing tones to all of the delays (Subhelic Arc). The others revealed themselves more on listening back--they're subtly, but strongly opinionated.

I hope that you're doing well, and that you're able to stay safe, while still enjoying summer. Thank you for listening!
