There's still a bit of summer ahead of us, but the end of August always feels like the end of the season. For this performance, light from the window wasn't quite enough, and it's back to artificial lighting. I'd spent much of the weekend thinking about other music I was working on, though I was confident this improvisation would come together, as it did.

This one seemed to want to be slow, each piece developing, and then saying "enough." It felt much more like allowing music to form itself, rather than chasing it or wrestling it into being. Those tend to be the better ones.

While it unfolded, some listeners commented on how much it was helping them come down from stress and anxiety, so I hope that it can help others that way, too.
