about

This week I decided to make things a little more difficult on myself. It's been a few weeks since I used some of these tunings, and they discourage me from making obvious decisions. Sometimes I'm wrestling with a dirty switch, or a note that's suddenly quiet. Sometimes it's best not to become too comfortable.

Similarly, I don't think any of us expected a year ago to be in yet another wave of this pandemic now. I'd had a vague thought that I'd do a year of these to reach that milestone, but surely there'd be no need to make this a regular commitment past that.

As it happens, the weekly performance has certainly been a lifeline for me. I think everyone who listens to the weekly stream, and everyone who streams and downloads these are also finding it helpful--comfort, solace, a chance to slow down, just something nice to listen to. Thank you to everyone who's continuing to listen.
