Some nights, my experience of the music while making it is different from the listener's experience. In this case, it felt as though there were times when the music wasn't revealing itself. I'd tried several different approaches with timings--some relatively short delays alongside much longer ones, first pulling in some notes that strongly suggested certain keys, and then avoiding strong key senses, trying to nudge pieces in directions different from the ones they wanted to go in.

As I listen back now, though, the music was always nearby. It's closer from track 3 on, I think, though the first two have a here's-how-it-happened honesty to their overloads and string-touches, and the music's there.
