about

I hope you're all well and (if you're in the US and celebrating it), able to enjoy a good Thanksgiving, if you're together with others, or if you're on your own. (If you are on your own, I hope you're able to reach out to people in some way. Connection is important.)

This week's return to pedal steel felt like a kind of homecoming. There are common threads through all these live improvisations, but the music is more likely to appear if I change something from week to week, so I'll often rotate instruments or approaches. Coming back to the pedal steel was the right thing--the music appeared, was different from other weeks in many ways, and went in some unexpected directions. It also...had a lot of overloading, so I had a lot of EQ work to do before releasing it. But I hope you enjoy it.

I'm thankful for your listening!

Dedicated to the work of Dan Flavin.
