about

This week's performance, the night before the winter solstice, was an example of the recorded work sounding different from my experience playing it. At the time, it sounded very dense, but it turns out to have a lot of spaciousness in it. I'd wanted to focus on microtones, and they're here. The pieces move and develop more than I'd experienced, and the texture changes more than it first seemed.

I know that on this darkest day of the year there's a lot that's worrying people, including me. But I think that there's hope, and that hope comes out in these pieces. I hope that you're all as safe and as well as possible.

Thank you to everyone who's listening to the live performances and to these recordings.

This performance is dedicated to the work of Robert Ryman.
