This performance came at the end of a three-day weekend, during which the pedal steel received some fresh strings and wanted to be heard. Music brought an atmosphere of calm attention, reflecting the attentive audience--few in number, but listening strongly. This is music that takes a meditative posture, and directs its attention to eternity. (These pieces are shorter than those in recent weeks, so...maybe the music gets there efficiently.)
