about

Beginning a third year of pandemic performances. Despite all the trouble in the world, I hope you're doing as well as possible.

This week had a smaller, quieter audience than usual, probably from my forgetting to promote it on one social media platform. It worked out, though--Music was in attendance, and it presented a way forward. I was able to abandon any plans I'd come in with--I could listen for the next note or next direction, and then play rests when I heard them. These pieces have a quiet and lush quality--our reward for following where they lead.

This week's improvisations are dedicated to the work of Helen Frankenthaler. Thank you for listening!
