This performance emerged from an unexpected direction--I had no plan or even preconception going into it, other than the notion to use a guitar I hadn't used in a while. The Moderne is in standard tuning, like last week's PureSalem, but has a different voice. This week, it was eager to speak, and music was particularly eager to appear.

Many of the timbres have a similar profile to woodwinds and reeds--the sounds have a quality being related to the breath, even though they came from the guitar. In some of these pieces, the progression is calm and slow, while others suggest more pulsing energy. There's harmonic variety with this one--some are darker (3, 5), some more neutral, and of course some seem to be drifting blissfully.
