about

May 30th would have been the 90th birthday of Pauline Oliveros, and I was fortunate to be able to witness an online gathering of fellow Deep Listeners and others connected to the listening community. If we're going to counteract the forces of disconnection, we need to be present for each other.

If you're here...I'm glad you're here. For anyone struggling, please reach out to people you know. Against the blaring emergence of terrible events, or the nearly constant hum of plain bad news, we need to be listening for each other.

This week's performance had a surge of live listeners on Twitch, and I'm particularly grateful to Minmei Decelis (www.twitch.tv/myboyfriendthepilot) for connecting me to the vibrant noise and experimental community there, and to AnaRchYinBedRoK (www.twitch.tv/AnaRchYinBedRoK) for organizing the raid train. And thank you to everyone who's been listening.

This week's improvisation is dedicated to the work of Beverly Pepper.
