Admittedly, this week's been more psychologically precarious than the last few. My region isn't doing well at containing the pandemic, so we're facing continued lockdown or other restrictions. There were other stressors from the day leading into this performance, as well.

At performance time, it felt like my attention was thrown off. Levels were all over the place, some frequencies not as present as I'd like, others way too loud, compositional sense was less sustained than some other times. In several places, I worked to avoid an apparent tonic, keeping the piece in the air for a while, though they wanted to come down to earth earlier than other weeks. And yet...there's some beauty being wrestled out of these pieces.

To anyone who's offered their listening attention, thank you!
