With a regular performance practice, I find that for some the music is easily accessible, and for others, I have to search for it. This one was like setting off in a small boat, crossing an unfamiliar lake, blindfolded. Much of the time I wasn't sure where I was aesthetically, but trusted my instincts.

The music brought me to a place worth exploring, which you can hear in the microtonal sections in the second, third, and fourth pieces, as well as the more orchestral timbres coming from the guitar throughout. I get a feeling of elegy in places, which I expected, given that the date of the performance was the anniversary of my father's passing.

This performance is dedicated to the art of Agnė Jonkutė, and to the memory of Maurice Rickard, Sr. Thank you for listening.
