I hope you're doing well! This week's performance--the first full night of summer--seemed a bit slower and more spacious than some recent ones, and the music showed up, quiet and determined.

All music is concerned with time, whether it's pushing it forward, trying to cram as much experience into it as possible, or meaning to slow it down, to present a kind of eternity in opposition to it. This week's music seemed to observe time passing, reminding me of time's steady, regular movement. The scale of time is incredibly long, and we barely register on it...but our time here does matter. Thank you for taking the time to listen, and to be present for each other.
