Sometimes there's an interesting disjuncture between my experience improvising and the results. Some issues with a cable during soundcheck had me listening for problems during the performance. The music appeared anyway. (The cable did act up a bit, with minimal impact. Comments from the live audience are a great reality check here.)

Listening back to it, the music does flow--sometimes like water, sometimes like sand. It goes where it wants to go, and suggests possible future paths. In the meantime, we can experience it together.
